Master Cleanse Secrets 10-Day Diet Review

The Master Cleanse Secrets 10-Day Diet is a very popular program right now, and is adhered to by a number of celebrity clientele, including singer Beyonce Knowles. The diet is a strict 10-day program that restricts calorie intake and consists of foods which flush out toxins in your body that contribute to weight gain. After this process is completed, a healthy diet of raw, fresh foods is recommended to continue weight loss and healthy living.

The primary function of the Master Cleanse Secrets 10 Diet is to first eliminate foods which deposit harmful chemicals within the body. These include processed foods, alcohol, caffeine, canned and packaged foods, foods treated with pesticides or preservatives, fried foods, and any foods containing an excess of salt, sugar, oil, or fat. The Master Cleanse Diet then instructs you to follow a specific eating plan consisting of pure filtered water, organic maple syrup, organic cayenne pepper, organic lemons, and sea salt.

The good thing about the Master Cleanse Diet is that it has more uses than just jumpstarting weight loss, and obesity is not the only condition that it can help with. Anyone suffering from a chronic illness can receive health benefits from a detoxification diet. Constant headaches or migraines could be due to an inflammation of the brain, and can be helped by reducing the number of irritants with in the body. Problems with fatigue can often be attributed to an excess of toxins within the system. Susceptibility to colds and flus may suggest decreased immune system as a result of an attack on the body.

Any problems with the digestive system, including irritable bowel syndrome, stomach aches, heart burn, and bloating are probably due to the effects of a processed diet. Other health problems that have shown to be improved by the Master Cleanse Diet include allergies, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes. The Master Cleanse 10 Day Diet can also aid in the treatment of psychological disorders such as depression, anxiety, alcoholism, and smoking. Eliminating the toxins in the body can help to alleviate the symptoms of these conditions and improve mood.

The medical community currently remains divided on the effectiveness of detoxification diets. However, Mayo Clinic gastroenterologist Michael Picco, M.D., reports that the benefits of diets such as the Master Cleanse include increased levels of energy, focus, and feelings of lightness. The calorie restriction required by most detox diets also leads to a heightened psychological state where one feels elated or “high.” In 2007, Dr. Oz Mehmet, host of the Discovery Channel show The Truth About Food, appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show to discuss detox diets. He reported that detox diets are very successful in psychologically preparing an individual for a diet or weight loss program. Individuals who begin a diet with a process of detoxification are more likely to stick to their diet plans and lose weight.

The Master Cleanse 10 Day Diet is a great way to start any weight loss program. It can help put you in the right frame of mind to stick to your goals, and will also give you an advantage by first clearing the body of harmful products. However, the Master Cleanse should not be used for long-term weight loss. It is more effective in preparing your mind and body for a healthy weight loss plan than keeping weight off long-term, so after the program is over, be prepared to make some more permanent changes in your diet.

Excerpts from a Cat’s Diary

Day 983 of my captivity…

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets.

Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a ‘good little hunter’ I am. Bastards.

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of ‘allergies.’ I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking.. I must try this again tomorrow — but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released – and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.

The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicating with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now …

Thanksgiving Question

Published by couchspud under Food, Psychological Health

I’m trying to lose weight. I’m also presented with the above display each year. Food is beautiful and reverent, so I am clearly the anti-Christ by rejecting any form of pleasure-laden matriculation. Thanksgiving is widely acknowledged as the binging day of the masses. Did you binge?

Reflections on Weight Loss

Published by couchspud under Psychological Health

thin

How much space exists between who we are and who we were? In our minds, it makes a world of dfference, but when it comes down to it we have the same passions and insecurities. Pink Floyd whispers in my ear as I consider this thought.

Running over the same old ground, what have we found? The same old fears. I wish you were here.

Pink Floyd always reminds me that memories all repeat, but the greater truths will prevail regardless. The greatest thing we can do for ourselves is to surrender to the fact that our bodies will ebb and flow, but our spirits will only change as a result of our own doing. What are you doing to ensure your spirit is fulfilled?

Eminem: Relapse

Published by couchspud under Psychological Health

relapse

I’ve decided that fans of Eminem fit into one of three categories:

1) Brain-dead rednecks excited about hating anyone and everyone
2) People pissed at their parents, and therefore, the world
3) Pop music groupies who are excited about any new single that comes along

I’m not going to specify which group I belong to, but the least I can say is that Eminem’s album “Relapse” is more than worth listening to. Notable quotes:

“I guess it’s time for you to hate me again.”

“You’re walking down a horror corridor…it’s almost four in the morning, and you’re in a nightmare, it’s horrible.”

“My mom loved Valium, and now all I am is a party animal, I am what I am.”

“If you could count the skeletons under my closet, under my bed and up under my faucet, then you would know I’ve completely lost it. Is he nuts? No, he’s insane.”

Diet Pill Review: HydroxyCut

Published by couchspud under Diet Pill Review

hydro

HydroxyCut is one of the most popular products on the market right now. I’m sure everyone has seen the HydroxyCut commercials featuring men and women in bathing suits with thin frames and rock hard abdominal muscles. This pill claims to help you lose more than 4.5 times the weight than just diet and exercise alone, and lists a number of medical studies on its website to back up that claim.

One of the good things about HydroxyCut is they post the ingredients right on the website, instead of leaving you to wonder what mysterious products you are putting into your body. An easily accessible ingredient list is linked off of the main page, citing its ingredients to be calcium, chromium, potassium, tea extract, and caffeine. There is also an ingredient listed called “Hydroxagen Plus,” which is made up of a number of fruit and root extracts.

The ingredients in HydroxyCut are relatively safe compared to most other weight loss pills out there. Many products contain excessive amounts of hoodia and guarana, which speed up your heart rate and can cause palpitations and irregularity. HydroxyCut has neither of these dangerous ingredients, and the amount of caffeine present in HydroxyCut is equal to just one cup of coffee. As long as you are not sensitive caffeine or have any existing heart conditions, HydroxyCut will not damage your heart the way that other products can.

HydroxyCut is safe to consume, which means that you can take it. But the real question here is should you? The “scientific proof” that HydroxyCut gives for its effectiveness is a number of studies done over an 8-week period. The website says that, in these studies, “subjects using key ingredients in Hydroxycut lost, on average, more weight than subjects using a placebo (14.99 vs. 3.06 lbs. and 12.54 vs. 3.53 lbs.). All groups dieted and exercised.” Notice that the experiments were done on the ingredients in HydroxyCut, not the pill itself. That means that no research has been done on the effects of all the ingredients combined in one pill. Medications and supplements react in different ways when put together within the human body, and cannot simply be assumed to be the sum of their parts.

Another reason that the studies are not conclusive is that all of the subjects combined a healthy diet and exercise plan with their consumption of the pill. This does not adequately isolate the variable in question, which is the pill itself. There is no way to tell whether the individuals who lost more weight did it because of HydroxyCut, or simply exercised and ate better. For these reasons, the studies don’t really have much to do with HydroxyCut, and certainly don’t prove its effectiveness.

I definitely think that the ingredients in HydroxyCut can help some people in their weight loss goals. Caffeine and green tea have both been proven to boost metabolism and increase energy levels. However, there is no proof that the specific blend of ingredients in HydroxyCut leads to accelerated weight loss. To get the same effects, you could simply start drinking coffee and green tea, and also begin a diet and fitness program.

All of these unique features do come at a price, and quite frankly, igourmet.com charges a lot for its Monthly Clubs.
